A TALENT SEARCH TO DISCOVER CLASSICAL MUSIC PRODIGIES

The Young Talents Project, organized by MediaCorp Symphony 92.4FM, is a talent search to discover classical music prodigies aged 15 and below in Singapore and its neighbouring countries. 

Over S$10,000 worth of cash and prizes to be won, plus a Grand Prize Winner who will have the exclusive opportunity to travel all the way to Vienna, Austria for masterclasses with a world-renowned faculty!

• Aged 15 and under (on 27 Jun 2014)
• Open to classical musical instruments and vocalists 

Young Talents Project 2014 Timeline

Stage 1
(Registration)
17 Feb – 07 Apr 2014

Participants are to submit a video showcasing their talent on www.oktoasia.com

• There will be a non-refundable registration fee of $60

• Video file size must NOT exceed 50MB

Closing Date: 07 April 2014, 3pm

Only shortlisted candidates will be notified by 11 Apr 2014.

Early registration is strongly encouraged. Those who complete registration by 10 Mar will be notified by 28 Mar 2014.

Stage 2
(Finals)
18 – 20 Apr, 26 – 27 Apr 2014
(Exact dates TBC)
Shortlisted participants will audition ‘live’ for a spot in the Grand Finals
Venue: TCM Recital Studio @ Chinese Swimming Club
Stage 3
(Grand Finals)
27 Jun 2014
8pm
The top 10 finalists from the auditions will compete in a Gala Concert held at the MediaCorp TV theatre

FAQs


• Are ensembles allowed?
No, the Young Talents Project is for individual performers only. 

• Can I audition for more than 1 instrument?
Yes, you may. Please submit a separate registration and payment with each instrument applied for (e.g. $120 for 2 instruments). 

• Are Chinese musical instruments (guzheng, pipa,yangqin, etc) or Indian classical violin allowed?
Yes, they are. 

• Can I perform or sing a pop/jazz/broadway piece?
No, pop/jazz/broadway pieces are strictly not allowed. If you’re unsure if your piece can be considered, email us at
SymphonyYTP@mediacorp.com.sg 

• Can I include more than 1 piece in my audition video?
Registrants are allowed to submit a maximum of 2 pieces. Do ensure that the file size of the video (or videos) does not exceed 50MB. 

• If shortlisted, can I perform different pieces at the live auditions and Gala Concert?
Yes you may.
